Overview

A panel of Edith Cowan University and University of Portsmouth experts in security and cybercrime explore the effects of cybercrime threats on community sustainability. Building sustainable communities and dealing with ongoing cyber threats represent two major global challenges when it comes to advancement and oversight. As the governments are faced with the social expectation of preventing all potential events, the likely impact of these threats on community vulnerabilities is yet to be fully appreciated. A panel of ECU and UoP experts in security and cybercrime discuss whether cybercrime threats can indeed be anticipated and interrupted, whether the current interventions are robust enough to promote sustainable communities and the role education has in countering the threats which pose a risk to sustainable communities.
