Overview

The world’s first Sports Diplomacy Dialogue with Australia and UK , including guests such as the most successful Olympic sailor of all time, Sir Ben Ainslie, Ambassador for the GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland campaign

Presented by the Sports Diplomacy Alliance, this one-day Dialogue, Who are we now, as seen
through the lens of sport,
investigates the role that sport plays in the relationship between the UK and Australia. Leading academics, diplomats and sector experts from both countries will review our shared sporting past, celebrate the diversity of our present ‘Sportscape’ and re-consider how we can harness sport for better social, diplomatic, and economic relations, as well as share best knowledge and practice on Sports Diplomacy. The Dialogue is supported by British Council and DFAT and will be held concurrently in Queensland, host of the 2018 Commonwealth Games and 2032 Olympics, and London, home of the 2012 Olympic Game.
