Join Edith Cowan University and University of Portsmouth experts exploring “Exercise is Medicine”
Professors Tipton and Newton will discuss the need to be active in good or poor health. Physical activity is reduced with advancing technology and in declining health. Can physical activity be used to support a return to, or maintenance of health, and how does this intervention work? Our two guest speakers (Professors Tipton and Newton) will discuss evidence that supports our need to be active and challenge our physiology.
This series of public events hosted by the University of Portsmouth, UK and Edith Cowan University, Australia brings together university researchers, civil society leaders, and industry experts to debate and discuss big picture questions facing their disciplinary areas in the context of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Illuminating local approaches to global challenges within specific disciplinary areas, this series of public events offers the opportunity to reflect on shared and divergent experiences in tackling local problems and to learn more about our exciting dual degree programmes that enable students to study in both the UK and Australia.
These events mark the launch of a set of distinctive dual degrees by the University of Portsmouth in the UK and Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. Students on these programmes will have the benefit of studying the complimentary curricula of both institutions, studying across two countries and receiving two awards.
